Oh to be a kid again!

I love watching my kids enjoy life...the other day it rained and I ran inside so I wouldn't get wet and these crazy nuts ran OUT in it so they could get wet!  Sigh...I need to stop and enjoy things more like they do.  I love my kids!

Food + Football = FALL!

The kids had a blast watching the BYU game with daddy! I on the other hand had a blast eating and having a FABULOUS 2 hour nap! Ahhhhhhh it's football season again! The sound of a game makes me sleepy and I love it!

My last 24 hours...

Got up about 4 times with the baby in the night.
Made a list of 13 things that NEED to get done.
Fed the baby, changed a poop and snuggled.
Got my kiddos off to school.
Made my bed (I know a real shocker)
Walked past a pile on my counter, oh about 10 times - I will get to it this month.
Fed the baby, changed a poop and snuggled.
Picked Luke up from school.
Remembered I never ate breakfast or lunch so I ate chocolate covered cinnamon bears instead.
Dusted the house (ohhhhh curse you pile of dirt next door)
Talked on the phone and looked at my list again.  One down 12 to go.
Fed the baby, changed a poop and another and another and snuggled. (this kid will be a moose)
Kids came home and Noah told me to take a nap.  (9 years old and he knows me all to well)
Unmade my side of the bed and had a glorious 30 min. nap.
Got a call from Dan who was on his way home from Sante Fe - bad news - migraine!!
Talked him into staying in a hotel to sleep it off.  (Sigh...secretly hoping he would get up with the baby last night - dang!!!)
Fed the baby, changed a diaper and passed her onto Kennedy! (why do I hear music)
Kennedy had me take a tiny nap while the kids watched Hercules.
Wait...we need dinner!  Everyone come down for waffles and eggs!  Call me Martha!
Finished our movie and slowly kids dropped like flies and I carried them to bed!
Checked on poor Danny boy - not good!
Washed my face and brushed my teeth.
Looked at my list again and you know what - lists suck!
Topped the baby off and prayed for more than 3 1/2 hours of sleep.  (she must of heard my prayer because I swear she cackled)
2 hours later she was starving.  Sigh...

What have you done in the last 24 hours?

BYU or Bust!

We pulled off a great surprise for Kennedy's birthday this year!  Since she is turning 13 and entering the "teen" years we thought we better do something special.  So we came up with a super plan and I think she really was dazzled!  We secretly packed a suitcase for her and told her Dan was taking her to a football game today.  She just didn't know it was in Provo, Utah to see BYU vs. UCLA!!!  When they showed up at the airport she started asking questions so Dan had her call me and I told her the game plan!  She was so excited!  They flew into Salt Lake and Dan started telling her all sorts of stories of when he lived there all the way to Provo.  They spent an hour or so in the BYU bookstore finding fun treasures for her and the kids (like chocolate covered cinnamon bears) and then they were off to tour the campus!  Dan had a blast telling all about the school and then they headed down to the stadium for the game!  They had so much fun and those memories will last forever!  Dan even took her to Burger Supreme (his fave place to eat)!  The last that I talked to them they both sounded tired and happy.
What a fun birthday memory and one great Daddy!

passing it down...

My dear friend Carol Knight gave us this outfit 13 years ago for Kennedy when she was born.   I have always loved this little outfit for my newborns and now it is official - all 5 of my kids have now worn it!  I told Carol about it the other day and thought I would take a pic to show her since she had forgotten about it.  So...thanks Carol!  Maybe I will hold onto it for the grandkids - ha ha!
